For Parents
Get Involved at David Brewer
We welcome and encourage families to get involved in our school. There are a number of ways to be engaged in your child's education.
Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO):
The PTO supports our school in many ways including fundraising for classroom activities and field trips and planning events for our school families.
If you want to find out more about getting involved in PTO, please contact school to find out when the next meeting is being held.
Site Council:
In 1992, the Kansas legislature enacted K.S.A. 72-6439, a state statute that instituted the Quality Performance Accreditation (QPA) system. This legislation required all schools to establish site councils, composed of the principal, teachers and other school personnel, parents, business representatives, and other representative community groups. Specifically, the site councils were charged with the following responsibilities:
- Providing advice and counsel in evaluating state, school district, and school site performance goals and objectives, and
- Determining the methods that should be employed at the school site to meet these goals and objectives.
Contact your building principal to get involved in Site Council.
Volunteer Opportunities:
We welcome and appreciate those who are willing to volunteer their time to our school. Per Board Policy, volunteers will be asked to complete a form authorizing a criminal background check before interacting with students. Contact the school or district office to obtain this paperwork, or start the process online.
Once your background check is received, we welcome you to contact the school office to find out when and where your time can provide the most impact. The principal reserves the right to direct volunteers to designated areas or activities where a need exists.
Volunteers must always sign in at the office and wear an identification badge at all times.
Our School is using ParentSquare!
